Research experience

Dr. Peng Chen is a Professor of Pharmacy at Lanzhou University in China. Gansu Province "Feitian Scholars" distinguished professor, Zhejiang University of Science and Technology adjunct professor, Gansu Province Outstanding Youth fund winner, Gansu Province Longyuan young innovative talent. He earned his doctorate in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Lanzhou University in China, in 2011. As a Visiting Research Scientist in Department of Pathology, Yale University School of Medicine (2017-2018). Deputy Director of Laboratory and Equipment Management Office, Lanzhou University (2019-2020). He is currently the dean of the Institute of Microbiological Microbiology Technology, Lanzhou University, and the director of the Teaching and Research Department of Microbiology and Biochemical Pharmacy, School of Pharmacy, Lanzhou University.

His research focuses specifically on microbiome diagnosis and novel drug discovery driven by big data and artificial intelligence. This basic research has led to the early diagnosis of colorectal cancer and identification of novel natural products with potential practical applications in anti-cancer and antibacterial agents in drug discovery and development.

Prof. Chen has presided over and participated in the completion of more than 60 scientific research projects, including the National Science and Technology Major Special Major New Drug Creation, the Distinguished Young Scholars Fund of Gansu Province, the Longyuan Youth Innovative Talent Support Plan, and the Gansu Provincial Science and Technology Support Plan. He has published 112 academic papers in journals such as Bioresour Technol, Lwt-food Sci Technol, J Nat Prod etc., edited 5 English textbooks and monographs in Elsevier, Springer Nature, etc., obtained 28 national invention patents and 43 software copyright registrations. Many achievements have been transformed.
